Distribution: Eubranchus farrani is usually found just below the intertidal zone, grazing on hydroids like Obelia geniculada. It is observed along the west coast of Norway as far north as Finnmark, but is more common south of Trøndelag.
Characteristics: This is a relatively small sea slug, reaching a maximum length of 2 cm. The body is typically white or bright grey. The orange-tipped rhinopores have a characteristic blown-up shape that can hardly be confused with other species in Norwegian waters. The entire body, cerata and all occasionally take a golden hue. Some individuals may display brown patches on the body. Juveniles sometimes lack the orange tips on the rhinopores and oral tentacles.
