Distribution: A. pilosa is a common inhabitant along most of the Norwegian coast. It is most frequent just below the tidal zone, but has been observed as deep as 170 meters. It feeds on bryozoans.
Characteristics: The huge gill bush is characteristic for this species. It has two long, ridged rhinophores. The many small and pointed tubercles give the mantle a furry appearance. The body color is white or pale reddish, sometimes speckled with brown or black blotches. It can reach a length of more than 5 cm.
