Distribution: This is perhaps the most common amphipod along the coast of Norway. It can be found under rocks on literally any beach, but lives as deep as 100 meters.

Characteristics: The body length may reach more than 3 cm. It has relatively large, black eyes. There is a red spot on the first three tail segments.
