Distribution: This colonial sea squirt is well known from the south and west coasts of Great Britain. The distribution along the Norwegian coast is somewhat uncertain. It can probably be found along the entire west coast of Norway, and at least as far north as Trøndelag. It seems to prefer hard substrate on exposed locations.

Characteristics: The colonies are usually 2 mm thick and rarely more than 3 cm across. The color is white or creamy. The regularly scattered inhalant pores are smaller than the fewer exhalant pores. The inhalant pores are larger than those of the Didemnum species.
