Distribution: It is not the most common of sponges along the Norwegian coast, but registrations have been made all the way from Vestfold to Troms. It can be found on any depth from 3 to 1000 meters. It prefers hard substrate and is usually seen in steep walls.
Characteristics: This tube or even bell formed sponge can reach a length of 15 cm. It is connected to the base by a hard, but flexible stalk. It may consist of more than one tube.
