Characteristics:

The body is translucent white with yellow or orange spots forming longitudinal rows along the body. The spots are sometimes slightly erected into the shape of small warts. Black stripes or speckling can be present. Body lengths of 4,5 cm have been reported. It has 4-6 yellow oral veil processes around the head.

Habitat:

It usually seen in the subtidal zone, on kelp, feeding on encrusting bryozoans. During winter and spring it is appears in large numbers in the kelp forests.

Distribution:

It is registered in western Europe, from Iceland and Greenland to the Mediterranean.
